Actually Michele & I just started watching Season 1 on DVD over the summer (there's nothing on here in the US at summertime).
Season 1 has definately been good so far (about 16 of 25 episodes watched so far). I anticipate that season 2 is a little 'down' from Season 1. Things apparently look up from there.
I was at a presentation at work the other month by Stephen Semel one of the editors on Lost (they edit with Avid Media Composer). Some of the stuff from Season 3 (I think) that he showed looked good too.
Yeah, Season 1 was good, and the viewing was compelling. Unfortunately the idea of having to endure hour after hour of 'compelling' viewing starts to get a bit tiring after a while.
At least Jack Bauer's immortality requires that you only suspend belief for 24 hours, after which (mostly) everyone is tucked up safe in bed.
I suppose "Lost" too lives up to its name if we assume its purpose is to highlight the dangers of creative writing.
Repeat after me: Beginning Middle END Beginning Middle END Beginning Middle END
