Thieves Steal Dead Rabbit

November 26, 2007 6:24 a.m. EST

Baden, Austria (AHN) -

Two thieves who ran off with a handbag from a woman waiting for a train ride in Baden might end up as the biggest joke in the underworld once they find out that their loot contained nothing but a dead rabbit. According to Hilda Morgenstein, 42, she was waiting for a train ride with her daughter which would take them to the countryside where she intends to bury her pet rabbit when the muggers attacked. "They saved us the trip," a shocked but elated Morgenstein said. "I told my daughter they were angels and were taking bunny to a better place." Although nothing valuable was lost in the unusual heist, police are still conducting search for the pair and the remains of the bunny.

Rabbit Ragù

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall writes in last Saturday's Guardian of the virtues of Wild Rabbit and how the common bobtail is so poorly regarded even though it is incredibly low in fat and has an abundant supply free of welfare concerns. Perhaps it's because they're such cute critters.
He also provides a selection of recipes including Rabbit Ragù and Bunny Burgers.

Pocono

For those of a nervous disposition; brace yourselves. The following story may cause sleepless nights on at least one of two levels: The tragedy that befell "Sunshine" or the manner in which Andrew Scott relates the drama.
Either way, prepare to be drawn into a world of mayhem and devastation in the previously calm township of Price. It was just an ordinary day...

Things aren't looking too rosy for Fallon who commisioned Passion Pictures to make the Bravia Bunny advert for Sony. Apparently the LA-based couple were approached a couple of years ago by the agency but heard nothing thereafter. Naughty, naughty!

Tragedy

News of Colin McRae's death is a bitter pill to swallow after a week of turmoil in motorsport. Barely three months after seeing him thrash the R4 at Goodwood it's hard to believe such a major force in British Rallying will no longer be around.

Grimsthorpe Castle

Had a nice day out at Grimsthorpe Castle and got extremely close to some very friendly red dear. Bracken (the dominant male) was very calm and didn't mind getting some close up photos in the slightest!

Jolly Green Giant

Continuing the Dutch theme this week, I came across the artwork of Florentijn Hofman. This 12m tall inflatable rabbit in green PVC was an installation he created for the 2005 Festive Season in Rotterdam.

His other works include a giant rubber duck and a series of giant pianos washed up on the beach. Who said art couldn't be fun!

Konijntje

Nabaztag may be an Armenian word for a French wi-fi rabbit that is sweeping the net but he'd better watch his back.
In a brave move to maintain his internet presence, it is now possible to contact ryanthebunny@gmail.com and become friends through the wonders of modern technology!

Ryan Gets In A Scrap

Not before time, it recently occurred to me that Hetty's Digital Scrap Book talents should be celebrated. What better reason then to look at a cute fluffy rabbit and also admire the growing portfolio of work that can be found at Divine Digital
I'm particulary taken by the picture of Jon that was done using the "full of stains" kit. I'm not sure what this says about him but it made me smile all the same!
